honest or oblivious?

Are Singaporeans an honest lot? Or simply just oblivious to what goes on around them?

Since 911 incident, countries all around the world have stepped up on their country's security measures.. In Singapore, we often see posters or video clips displayed at public transport areas and over TV, reminding us to be vigilant and alert of suspicious and unclaimed packages or boxes, for fear of terror attacks and bombings..
But apparently, all these efforts have gone to waste.

Why do I say that?

Last Sat, dar and I went shopping for some stuff that we need for our new kitchen and we bought a nice dish drainer amongst other things. We didn't drive cos the 'concubine' needs a nice facial and manicure, so we dropped it off for its session. For the next 3hrs, we took public transport and frankly, it was quite fun. Then... suddenly, as we were about to alight from the bus, we noticed something different. we ought to be carrying something bulky, but we WERE NOT! Only then did we realised we accidentally left our dish drainer on the floor, smack in the middle of the road behind the bus stop at Bugis.

We collected the car and as we walked, all possibilities went through our mind.
We thought to ourselves, there could only be a few possibilities.
#1 - it's gone. we wasted $31.50. Aunties took it away
#2 - it's gone. but maybe can check with the security guard. a kind soul dropped it off
#3 - it's still there with police and dogs all around it
#4 - it's still lying there, in the middle of the road with people walking past it w/o bothering what lies inside the big BHG plastic bag

As our car approached the bus stop, a bright orange bag caught our eye. OMG! IT's still THERE!! SITTING THERE all alone on the cold concrete floor with crowds of people walking past it. NoBODY gave the unidentified package a 2nd look. I ran to it, hugged it in my arms and ran happily back to the car.

Unbelieveable.

Singaporeans are truly an honest and seriously bo chap lot.

:)

Should I be happy that we found our lost purchase? Had it been a bomb, the bo chap people would have been blasted into bits.

But frankly, I think i'm also one of those bo chap people. haha... but perhaps I would have taken the box out of the plastic bag and placed it at a more prominent place for all to see. :P okok.. excuses... I would have left it on the floor.

Ahh... Singaporeans... :)

outdoor photoshoot [ 430pm - 730pm ]

Locations : Sentosa & Fullerton (night scene)

#1 - Sentosa
We sat on grass, climbed trees, sat on benches, played with dried leaves... & killed countless ants
We ran along the beach.. tried but failed to splash water by jumping up and down in the water.. strolled by the beach...

wah tired

#2 - Fullerton
We posed along the Singapore River in front of the CBD buildings... walked along the area.. posed in front of Fullerton hotel building

by 730pm, our mouths are stiff and numb from smiling... it has become a plastic smile!!
and SUPER HUNGRY!!

by the time we reached GHA to change, and reach home, it's already around 9pm and we're so tired out. could hardly talk. and hardly walk. juz TOO exhausted.

but it's really quite fun. :)
but i wouldn't want to do it again. it really must be a once in a lifetime experience!

:)

we're happy. :)

1 oct 2007 - part 2

7.30am : IT'S MY PHOTOSHOOT DAY!!! Happily, I rubbed my puffy eyes.. brushed my teeth and msg shengwang to see if he's awake.. and yes he is..
he's shaving! haha...

8.30am : met up with dar for breakfast.. drove to BP and ate my favourite half boiled eggs at Wang Jiao~

9am : We're on our way to our bridal boutique - Golden Horse Awards!

9.30am : we tot we're the earliest.. but goodneess me! by the time we reached, there's already a couple taking their shots at the studio already!! and it seems they started make up at 7am!! Madness!!

9.45am : our make up artist (MUA), Nancy arrived. and like almost immediately, she sat me down and started doing my make up. I did some research on her on forums and read that she's quite a good MUA so I'm quite relieved..
1st - she asked if i did my nails (then i shyly said yes.. )
2nd - she saw that i've plucked my eyebrows but she say a little too thick, may look fierce, so she started to pluck off some more hair.. :p
3rd - asked if I'd be using the ampeel, fake eyelashes and hair setting.. I said yes to all 3 items.. and she started work

within like 30 minutes, i'm all made up. couldn't recognise myself anymore. super BIG eyes, with ultra white flawless skin.. looked kinda weird.. dar stared in amazement.. haha.. but soon he was bored so he took out his pda and started surfing the net. gave him some cold stares but din think he saw it.. :p but soon it was time for him to make up!
Nancy say she'll be plucking out some of the stray eyebrow hairs.. and putting light foundation and blusher.. *sweet! he's one handsome cute boy!

11am : all made up. dressed. and ready to conquer the world. but the photographer not here yet. so we waited.. and as we waited.... i took out some compositions to mark... and....... i got some weird stares from another photographer around..... so i kept the papers away quietly...

1130am : photographer finally arrived and immediately he started work.
called us in to ask us what kind of 'photography style' we like. natural, funny, cool looks, really posed pix kind etc...
we opted for simple, natural and funny style..... and we were off!!

*click click click when the camera and 'boom' went the flashes...*

"Smile..."

"Wonderful!"
"Very nice!"
"Very beautiful"
"More closer."
"Laogong don't want you. Bride your turn to perform."
"Laogong, put your leg here."
"Bride sit down. move nearer. Tilt your head more. Left. Right...."

1 Oct 2007 - a day to be remembered...

12am : too exhausted. went to lie down in bed.. yet too excited cos mum's coming back home!! so.. bad dreams thru' out the 1 hr sleep.. dreamt of me scolding the kids, slapping them.. hahah... opps*

1am : woken up by dad. a light pat on my bedroom door and I bounced 90degrees from my bedrest position and sat on my bed. We're going to pick mum up from the airport!

1.10am : driving out from the multi-storey carpark.... ZOOoom!

1.30am : arrived at the airport. feeling very cold.. went to order a McSpicy meal + hot milo... *slurp

1.50am : mum's flight touched down... waited.. and waited... and waited..

2.30am : finally caught a glimpse of mum! she's too small sized that she slipped through our watchful eyes!

2.35am : daddy suggested going for some food cos mum's hungry!! :S Luckily mum understands we're a little tired liao.. so we went home straight

3am + : finally reached home.. mum happily took out all her souveniers, food items.. like Christmas lydat.. haha..

3.30am : surrendered to the bed monster... and I fell asleep almost immediately..
