prawning!

MC, ZJ, Tess, Toto (the dog), Dear and I went prawning yesterday at Lakeside. We met there at 3pm yesterday and by golly, it's not cheap. They charge by per rod and it costs $26 per rod.
Dear and I shared a rod and we were off! We hooked some meat and threw the rod into the pond.

There were quite a number of people already prawning there.. mostly uncles and aunties, but there were some families with kids. The uncles, aunties and kids are all pros lor! they seem to be able to fish up all the prawns without much effort! 1 prawn, 2 prawns, .... as if the prawns are like damn hungry! but it's not our case leh!

Think we only successfully caught our 1st prawn almost 45 min later!! :p
There was an exceptionally cocky boy whom we all detest! He fishes for the prawns like a pro, and somehow, the prawns love him. He was on a prawning spree and then he started to hao-lian! haha... "so easy! you don't know meh? blah blah blah..." so cocky! can't stand him!

Prawning is seriously addictive! especially once you successfully catch a prawn! then you won't want to let go of the rod! haha... so in the end, Dear had to give in mostly to me, and let me play with it most of the time. hee..
At the end of 3 hours, the 5 of us, caught a whopping total of 12 prawns!!! Dear and I caught around 6-7 prawns i think!! YEAH!! hahaha... and we decided to BBQ it straight away!

We washed the 12 pathetic prawns b4 we placed them on the mesh. The naughty prawns kept jumping around! It wasn't easy to BBQ them at all! Even as they were already cooking on the mesh, they kept struggling and jumping! Almost jumped off the mesh and onto the ground! Luckily we had our tongs with us and we managed to keep them BBQ-ing~

p/s: as we are cooking our prawns, the cocky boy exclaimed "WAH! I caught 72 prawns leh!" >.<" Had he been my student, I'd have given him a piece of my mind! Really feel like beating him up man!!!

Finally, it's cooked and we can finally get to taste our catch! It's so fresh!!! YUMMY! And we placed order for some other dishes as we had our dinner there. What a fun outing! Can't wait to go prawning again! :)

bridal bouquet..

I never thought it would be so difficult to choose a bouquet of flowers for a wedding.. until now...

I went to GHA yesterday and when I thought they will provide me with photos of flower bouquets, I was wrong. Ailing said I am to give them a photo of the flower bouquet that I want and they will make for me.
Oh gosh..
I have to shortlist the kind of flowers that I like and also provide a photo!? It's seriously difficult.. I searched online for different bridal bouquets hoping to find something which I like but somehow all the bouquets suddenly all look the same.. and so many flowers to choose from!!! sobs...

I'm still searching for the right one...

so difficult...

In the end, I've finally chosen my bridal bouquet! :)

we made it!!!

We achieved it!!! The kids managed to retain the award for SYF! yeah! :)
phew~ the kids did themselves proud.. we are certainly very proud of them!

now I can't wait to see their performance on video.. hopefully they will send us / sell us the video soon..

D-Day! (SYF 2008)

Yesterday was SYF Central Judging for Dances day. Woke up at 530am, gave a morning call to Yu Xuan and then dragged myself to school. Dad forced me to eat noodles for breakfast but cos it was really very early, I had no appetite. IMAGINE THAT! Jane NO appetite! :S that's really news man...
anyway, reached school at 630am, and went up to the AVA room. Lina, Margaret and 2 parents were already there. They really super leh~ can reach so early..
So we immediately started work.. tying hair for the girls as and when they arrive..
And that was exactly what we did for the next 3-4 hours. 3-4 hours of tying hair.. spreading hair gel over the girls' hair, just like spreading butter on bread and spraying tonnes of hair spray on the hair to FIX their hair. SERIOUSLY LOTS of hair spray! Then it comes to changing into their costumes... luckily the girls had tried on their costume b4 and so they knew wat to do when it comes to changing...
At around 1130am, macdonalds came and delivered 80 sets of students' meals (amounting to a whopping $360!!) the kids gobbled down their food while we watched as we drool.. we were hungry too.. but cant eat yet.
Then after food, the kids went to the hall for 1-2 last rounds of rehearsal in school..

And we're off! Off to NUS UCC hall.
When we are there, we saw many other participating schools... all getting ready..
Almost like immediately, we ushered the kids into the backstage and they got ready for their dance item.

the dance was like over in 5-7 minutes and we had to rush the kids out of the theatre after that..
everything like happened so fast.. the P2s like din do well and made some blunders.. but the haiyans did so well I couldn't believe it. Din see their ending part.. but hopefully the judges liked it.

This SYF is really an eye-opener for me.. never been part of such an event before.. VERY tiring and I was literally dragging my body when I met up with Dear for dinner.. a walking zombie was what I looked like.. haha..
plonked straight into bed the min I reached home.. tired..

the results of the judging will be out today.. praying for the best!

haiyan.. seagulls.. that's our theme..

tonight is the eve of their SYF competition.. feeling nervous and excited. the anticipation is killing me.. I can't wait for it to be over..
the unreasonable and overbearing parents who want their say in the way we handle the children and the way we should SERVE them.. sickening and irritating.. really dunno wat we are working for.. but nevertheless, the kids are slowly showing their potential and putting in their best efforts, which makes all these shit worthwhile doing

my angel & mortal

Goodies from my angel warms my heart..

Notes and yummies from my mortal makes my day..

As my angel always sends a prefect to deliver her goodies to me and she's always very tight-lipped, I din manage to get any clues out from her. But today, a boy came to me bringing the packet of yummies to me.
And the minute he saw me, he said "Hi teacher, this is from Mrs Seow."
And I totally flipped! hahaha...

So NOW I know who my angel is... haha.. now what should I buy for my angel and mortal on reckoning day? hmmm....

weekend T2W4

Last saturday, after spending 3 hours standing in the AVA room tying hair for the girls one after another, and watching their full-dress rehearsals in the school hall, there's only 1 thing to say.

The girls worked hard and indeed they are slowly improving. Hopefully they will continue to improve and do well in time for the competition this coming Wed. This period of time is quite trying for the teachers and especially the kids. Bet they are as stressed as us..

After dance, Dear and I went for lunch first before going to the temple. Things havent been going smoothly for me, so I tot I'd better go and pray for better luck and greater wisdom. After that, we went to OG and I finally bought another pair of white pants to replace my seriously old pair.
YEAH! can throw that dirty old pair away. :)

After that, we decided to go to Sim Lim to get a new computer for the new house. I won't be bringing my current computer over to the new house as mum and dad can probably make use of it. And mum has kindly sponsered it for me! :) Thanks mummy!!! ^-^ So I bought a new HP computer and it's really pretty! :) Ok.. i got nothing to say about its specs coz I really know nuts about computers.. haha.. so I juz focus on the outlook! haha... ok, bimbo i know. :P anyway, since there's shengwang, I dont have to worry about the specs, he'll settle that for me! hahah!! :)

I LOVE IT! :)

That night, we dined at MOF @bugis... nice.. it's kinda like Waraku but they have a greater variety of food and their presentation is definitely nicer! :) Their desserts look really yummy!

Oh yes! saw this scene at NYDC and I had to stop and take photos! haha...

Weekends just fly past like super fast and almost in a blink of an eye, it's Monday again. sigh...

I can't wait for the next weekend!! We'll be going to the bridal studio for our fathers to fit their suits! :) I get to choose my bridal bouquet and car flowers! :) hoping that the next weekend will come soon!

fallen angel ~

"Yu Xuan! Looking for Yeeling ah?", I said.

I saw and followed behind YuXuan as she walked towards Yeeling's desk. Then it was followed by a shocked look on her face. Her whole face went red. Then I said.. "WHAT!?! Why do you look so sheepish? HUH?!!!"

And then she broke into laughter. "YOU REALLY CAN BECOME ACTOR LIAO!!"

That was it. I knew it. :( The cover was blown. HORRIBLE. I knew she found out I was her angel.
So I screamed... HOW DID YOU FIND OUT!!! WHO TOLD U!!!

She replied..."I told Fion to pass the gifts to my angel.. and.... as I walked by ur desk, I saw my gifts on your table.."

OMG!!!

Is this FATE or wat!! :S We both broke into screams!!

I am now declared a FALLEN angel..

Unbelieveable...

To think I went to great lengths to bluff her... told her that I was sent by her angel to pass the gifts to her, emailed her to tell her that she better don't suspect me anymore else will break her 'real' angel's heart... and even replied that I will find out from her 'real' angel what she likes and get back to her when Yu Xuan asked me what her 'angel' will like so she can buy for her on reckoning day...

Faints...

What a day! hahaa..... mood dampening but nevertheless, still very fun! :)

1st attempt..

Seeing how beautiful Wendy and Joanne's blogs are.. I decided to try out inserting photos onto my blog..
I know I'm super sua-ku, but I've never done this before.. So I surfed the net to look for the codes to insert photos into the blog... coz the blog template I saved from blogskins.com doesn't allow me to insert/type comments, so I decided to look for other blog templates which do and copy and paste the codes into this existing template. :)

Quite adventurous and fun too! :)
