Appreciation

== This message just made my day ==
Dear Mrs Soon,
Thank you for teaching me how to tie knots during Innochef.
Now, my father taught me how to tie up knots and finally I know how to tie them!
Thank you.

Many of us, not just kids, do not appreciate enough.

When..
someone holds the lift for you and presses on the Door Open button while you exit the lift..
someone gives up the seat for the pregnant mums-to-be..
mummy/daddy/hubby helps to wash the dishes and the chores in the house..
daddy cooks a meal for me..
the husband/bf picks you up from work..
the cleaner who wakes up earlier than any of us to help mop the lift lobby b4 we go to work..

do we take note and say our thanks?

Thank you Laogong for mopping the floor and fetch me home from school and making breakfast for me every morning...
Thank you daddy & mummy for taking care of Ju and I, fetching me from school, always being there to give me help and offering me advice and always cooking yummylicious food for us!
Thank you dance babes.. couldn't have survive all the crap without you all...

Thank you!!

lydat oso can?

"Chili crab is Malaysian. Hainanese chicken rice is Malaysian. We have to lay claim to our food. We cannot continue to let other countries hijack our food." The Star newspaper quoted Tourism Minister Ng Yen Yen as saying while launching a campaign to promote the country's cuisine. I saw this article on the Yahoo! news today.
Didn't know that there's even nationality for food.

Crab type : Chilli crab
Nationality : Malaysian

?!?!?!
"What about me?" cried Pepper Crab. "What's my nationality?"

duh

Mr & Mrs Goh's love nest

Wendy (aka Mrs Goh) invited us over to her new place on Friday 11 Sept in Clementi..
Beautifully designed and it feels really cosy.. I especially loved her colour theme and the roman-numbered clock they have in the living room.. classy!

After pizza and playing with Yichao, the girls decided to retreat back into the air-conditioned entertainment room to play Jenga!

Group pix!!

Wahhh!!
Lee Sin trying to hold on to the blocks while they come crashing down!

Phew!
Janey happy that she managed to pull one out of the very shaky tower!

Look how tall the tower is!!
Caught at the moment of the fall!
Bravo~ Wendy!

And after Jenga, it was TABOO time! :)
Super fun!!

Oh... how I wish the holidays never end.....

Ramblings

Happy times seem to just fly by...
In a wink of an eye, it's already Thursday! :(
I dread the thought of Monday again....

Thinking about the 1001 things waiting to be done while home is just where I wanna be, makes me juz so sianz of work..

Looking at the piles of English workbooks on my desk at home right now makes me feel worse.. I lugged them home yesterday after dance practice.. I just couldn't continue marking in school as the amount of crap that I have to remark makes me very grouchy and irritated.. plus the heat in my classroom certainly doesn't makes things easier..
But I knew I had to look through the books else when school reopens, there's definitely not going to be time for that..

ARGH!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Reflections and ramblings!

I did monitor her teaching and did advise her many times to do the work with the class, check their work and mark them. but apparently, she still left things up to the last minute and in the end, she didn't have time to finish marking them.. let alone go through corrections with the class... or perhaps, she is too trusting.. trust that the kids will always hand in work to her on time and trust that they will do corrections...
or should I say she's irresponsible? never check that the kids actually did their work? never check who handed in and who didn't? never bother to mark accurately?
I merely glanced through the kids' books and noticed so many mistakes in her marking! Told her about it.. told her to look into it and re-mark.. but did she? NO!! She spent the last period instead of trying her level best to go through all the corrections, she gave out farewell sweets instead!!! ARGH!! I almost fainted in horror when I walked past my class.. thinking that she may request for more time to tie up all her loose ends!

Am i too demanding? - I doubt so.
I think my fault would be that I trusted her to do her job properly.. but I guess I did not monitor her enough and breathe down her neck enough...
Lesson Learnt : Next time, cannot leave things to trainee... NEVER!!! >.<"

Catherine's wedding!

This is definitely one of the sweetest, most romantic wedding I've ever attended...
The groom made the most touching speech about his wife...
Kinda made everyone in the ballroom go "AWWww...." and that of coz left his bride in tears of happiness..

Congrats dear Catherine! :)

It's the Holidays!!!

The Sept holidays are here!!!
After slogging for the past 10 weeks, the 1 week break is FINALLY here!! YIPPEE!!!

As usual, Chinese Dance practice on Saturday is as usual very draining and by 12pm, I'm already quite brain dead. Decided to sleep my afternoon away to recover the loss of brain matter after 4 hours of drama in school. Saturdays usually juz whizz away lydat.. Went to Bee Hong's housewarming in the evening.. I DROVE O! so brave... but hearing Jaron shout AUNTIE JANE the minute the car door opened for him to enter, made everything worthwhile!! ^-^
That little man is so cute.. can't stand him!! ^-^

6 Sept - the Haiyans took part in a dance competition at DBS auditorium.
The venue is quite small, in fact, even smaller than the stage we have in school.
Nevertheless, we worked it out somehow and though there weren't many dance groups, one of dancers from Eunos CC was really quite outstanding, from what I heard.
We won the 2nd prize and I hope that after the debrief, the kids learnt that they are not the best and should not be conceited.

Keeping my fingers crossed for the coming few months till Nov/Dec and will continue to push and encourage the kids to do their best for the competitions next year.

Never knew that it can be so stressful to be in a performing group. But luckily, got Jaelyn, Yeeling, Que Yi and Kaixin around to complain and ventilate and discuss things with.
That really made the difference. Else dunno how to survive all these....

Anyway, the first day of holidays started with us having to go back to school at 830am for a Career Carnival... went to hear more about the Leadership track and really felt that it seemed so far fetched for me.. dunno what's my aspiration...
Muz have vision and action.. muz have a dream... i seem to have none of that...
but I do know I like to be with kids... to encourage them.. to help them achieve what they didn't think they could... but sometimes, I feel that I'm too emotional for my own good.. and apparently, to be a good leader, one muz have self-control over one's emotions.. guess I fail in that aspect! >.<"

I'm more like little piglet, in fact!

After the session ended at approx 12... Joanne, Jeanette, Jaelyn and I went out for lunch @Causeway Pt coz all of them needed to be back in CCK area around evening time..
Lunch was at Swensons and we were all starving by the time we took a cab and reached Causeway Pt... but the lunch was yummy and we even ordered a regular earthquake!! YUMMY!!!

Then we immediately set out to comb level 2 of the mall... SHOPPING!!
I bought myself a denim dress (at a $10 discount coz we purchased 3 pcs in total) and a blouse from Iora (at a 10% discount!! Thanks Jaelyn!!)
HAPPY!!!

HAPPY FAMILY!!

can u feel the tremors?!!?! ^-^

Had wanted to buy myself a bag and a pair of shoes but din manage to... but never mind! after SW finish his exams on Thursday, I am so making him go shopping with me again next SAT!! (p/s: Weekends w/o dance is really SHIOK!!)

Anyway, heard lots of good news lately.. really happy for all my friends and looking forward to having more little ones running around and making Auntie Jane happy!!

I LOVE HOLIDAYS!!!
