weddings, dinner & cockroaches*

Last Sat, after coming to school in the morning for my P6 Prelim Oral duty, I went home and kinda slacked until around 12.15pm before I left home again to attend a childhood friend's wedding at Rasa Sentosa (ROM ceremony at 1.15pm).

So I decided to walk along the roads to where there's more traffic and hopefully I'd be able to hail a taxi but but to my horror, there were many people standing along the roads waiting for taxis and there were none on the roads! in the end, after walking for about 15 min, I reached the BP Plaza and ended up having to call for a cab. :S

by the time I got onto the cab, it was already 12.45pm. I tot to myself, ok, I've got 30min and so should be no prob to get to Sentosa in time for the ceremony, given the driving skills of Singaporean taxi drivers. but to my surprise, my taxi driver was a gentle one, and perhaps oso due to the HIGh petrol prices, he appeared too gentle and unwilling to rev the engine and step on the accelerator! So I only managed to reach the expressway at around 1pm. and there was a JAM!! >.<" luckily it kinda cleared up after a while but by the time I reached the hotel, it was already 1.30pm and the ceremony was over!! >.<"
so sad.... I missed it all~ in the end, I went up to the ballroom for the lunch reception and met the bride & groom.. :) Such a loving couple... my friend, the groom, made a touching speech and even sang for his bride! ^-^ Sweet!!

a wedding by the sea...

popping the booze~

Juz for his bride... awwwww~

After the lunch, I left at ard 4pm and since SW's class ends at 5pm, I decided to go jalan jalan around Vivo while waiting for him. When he's finally here, we drove back to BP Plaza and went to NTUC. We've decided to cook our 1st dinner at our place.. but coz I'm seriously a noob at cooking, I couldn't cook anything too fancy.. so we settled for stir-fried vegetables, fried tofu (dad's recipe) & a egg-dongfen soup. and after spending approx. 1 hour in the kitchen, constantly fearing that I'd burn down the house, the dishes were finally ready! :)

sad to say, the soup din work out well coz the dongfen kinda absorbed all the soup whilst I was frying the veg and tofu.. so... all in all, the kitchen is intact, no diarrhoea.. haha... but I guess I've gotta learn to make more soups~ ^-^ and the best part, SW helped with the mopping & cleaning of the dishes after that.. BEST! :) but cooking is really tiring! absolutely dead beat after that! until next time!

p/s: Today, 28th July 08, @7am, I KILLED A BABY COCKROACH!! SW had already left home for his ICT and so I was home alone. then I saw a baby cockroach crawling on the walls near the dining table and I kinda freaked out for a min, b4 I decided to get some newspapers and SWAT!!! I KILLED IT!!! YEA~

luckily not adult cockroach man........ :p

daddy, mummy and juju came!

tonight, daddy, mummy and juliet came over to accompany me for dinner again...they again brought the teng-kats full of food and we were supposed to cook rice at my place tonight.
but juz as I put the rice into the rice cooker and was about to wash the rice, I saw a layer of many small black dots floating on the water surface... initially i tot it was juz dirt.. but after 3 times of washing, the dots were still there!
so i took a closer look and to my horror, ''it'' was actually many small tiny insects!!then I looked into my rice container and there were more!!! oh my goodness!!!

so i threw away all the rice and we had to settle for dinner outside... we went to the coffeeshop near my place and we ordered rice with some dishes. :) happy... felt really like old times... we chatted and laughed.. :) happy to have my parents come over...

then after dinner, it started to pour!! we had to take shelter and run into my flat's void deck coz we din have umbrellas and were too lazy to take the sheltered walkway.
when we reached home, we watched news for a while b4 sis and I started to play Wii!!!
then as we played, daddy watched. but not for long!! we coaxed him to join in the game and he played against my sister!! haha...so cute la!!
he pretended not to be very interested but got so involved in the game eventually! haha... think he'll wanna come over and play somemore next time!! ^-^

i'd love for them to come over more often! :)

*last week when they came over... they watched TV only*

up the wall

I juz had to blog this to continue venting my frustration and anger..
the story goes like this.. got a kid in my class who seriously got on my nerves today.
I spent a whole period++ teaching the class how to add with renaming..
and to top it off, I even called on him to ask him to do a sum on the board. and somehow, dunno why, he managed to do it. but subsequently, for ALL other questions, he simply had NO IDEA HOW TO DO

anyway, after doing MANY sums with the class until my HA and MA kids cannot tahan anymore, my LSP kids finally kinda got the hang of it. but to my surprise, that boy still cannot understand or rather dunno how to use him 10 little fingers.
So I got him to come to me at the teacher's table and gave him 1-1 help.

BUT when he came to my table, and i got him to add 4+ 6, then managed to tell me 10, and after LOADS of prompting, he finally was able to write that down in the algorithm.
Then I got him to add 4+7... he took out his fingers and to my absolute horror, he showed me 4 with his fingers and when he's supposed to add 7, he recounted the 4 fingers which he stuck out. >.<" after trying my very best to try to explain to him why he has to add another 7 more with the other fingers in his hands, and he STILL did not get the drift, I couldnt take it anymore. I shouted at him. NO! it's not my fault that I shouted. Don't always blame the teacher. Sometimes it's the kid himself! he juz totally drove me up the wall, into the hole and up the pipe! and he tried to tear somemore! and when I told him to wash his face and he still came back teary-eyed, I lost it. I told him not to cry because I AM THE ONE WHO REALLY WANNA CRY.
at the moment, i truly felt the blood gushing the my brains and as if the blood vessels in my neck will burst. OHHHHH!!!!! irritating!!!!

But i told myself, i gotta COOL down....... so I took a damn deep breath and tried it teaching him again. I explained to him why he had to add it that way but STILL the bugger didn't seem to understand..
that was the last straw!!

i told him to go back to his seat. I couldn't face him anymore. with his pathetic face looking at me. i juz felt totally ally mcbeal and wanted to stretch out my arms and lock them on his neck and shake him all around.

sigh....

he's truly one of a kind. BLUR Like sotong with a DAMN pathetic face whenever anyone scolds him. URGH!

tmw i'm meeting him earlier at 11am to give him remedial on this again. will try a different approach to teach him. and hopefully this time round, the gears in his mind machine will start to work. :P however rusty they are~

>.<"
what a crazy day~

p/s: i shouted "I AM DAMN DULAN TODAY" in the general office. with the P and VP both in their offices. hopefully there won't be an email attentioned to me tmw.... hopefully they din hear me~ opps >.<"

got a date in the knight~

SW had classes the whole of Saturday and I spent the morning part of the day with Chinese Dance b4 going to my mum's place for lunch with them.. :) although it's juz noodles in the cannot-make-it coffeeshop downstairs, it's still great! :)

After lunch, I went home and swept the floors and then wipe the furniture in the house..
the amount of dust is unbelieveable.. or is it juz coz i'm new to this household chores issue~
I swept the floors a week ago and when I did it again this week, the amt of dust under my bed is seriously a lot la! a thick thick layer on my magic-clean cloth! >.<"
the dust under my bed & around my room is much more dust than the living room & 2 other rooms combined!

Anyway, then in the late evening, I took the LRT & MRT to meet SW in the city area.. and my golly, the whole journey there took 1 hour. >.<" think i'm becoming too pampered liao. I prefer to sit in the comfort of the car and enjoy the ride. the MRT ride was unbelieveable too. so many people. so many foreigners that I feel like a tourist in my own country! Indians, Chinese, Thai blah blah... so many other people that it feels almost comforting to hear the familar Singapore Singlish :) and the worst thing of the trip is, the damn couples!
Already SO many people, and they wanna hug here hug there~ touch here touch there.. the arms going everywhere banging into me.. idiot~ :p

Finally reach Orchard MRT and the crowd there is crazy. squeeeeeeze like mad. finally happily reach the Lido theatres and MY GOLLY! SOOOOOO many people! A LONG QUEUE! but nvm, we tot we're early coz the show that we wanna catch (The Dark Knight) is at 9.30pm and we were there around 6pm. BUT GUESS WHAT! when we reach the booth, the kind lady showed us the available seats. ONLY LEFT a few seats in the 1st-3rd ROW!! :p

So no choice lor, we took the 3rd row seats (CORNER SEATS).
and for the whole show (abt 3hours), our heads had to tilt approx. 80degrees to the LEFT. :(
what a horrible experience! :P the whole neck cannot tahan after 1 hour. :P so the remaining 2 hours was pure torture~

Though 1-1.5hour into the show was a little draggy, the show was great~ the movie effects and scheming acts of the Joker was great! :)

Overall, I'd give the show a 4**** out of 5*****

p/s: the next day, my right upper arm ached like mad. :(
I guess it's because I had to turn my arms 90degress to the left everytime I reach for the popcorns throughout the show!
& it's still painful now!!

havent had time to log onto my blog to update much lately.. haha..
with SW in school tonight, I finally had some time to finish some marking and now, to update a little on my blog..

today marks the 1-month wedding anniversay for the both of us.. sad to say, SW has class tonight so there goes our 'celebration'.. Mummy sms the both of us early this morning to wish us a happy 1-month anniversary.. hee... so sweet of her..

mummy, daddy and Ju came over tonight to have dinner with me..
they brought along their usual cater-food (3 tengkat full of food, 1 tengkat of soup), dad cooked rice and brought the rice cooker pot with rice over, and along the way after fetching me from sch, we dropped by BP plaza to get my specs and dad went to tabao some more chicken wings..
Ju met us at my place and she oso tabao Rosti~ wat a feast! in the end, we din manage to eat the Rosti coz the cater-food was surprisingly edible and the chicken wings were juz too yummy!
After dinner, the 4 of us sat down to watch tv and look at my wedding day photos... hee.. i miss the good old days where we used to sit down to watch tv together.. sigh.. miss them la.. v_v

anyway, they left at around 10pm, leaving me some private time to do my nails and blog a little.. hee..

here are some photos from the previous few weeks.. so long since I uploaded the photos from my camera!
