random pix

on the roads today, we spotted SUPER DOG... haha.. its so cute! It really looks as if its surfing in the wind! woohoo~ Cool dog! so white, so pure, so clean and definitely very obedient!

Shu Fang : I feel this way during recess time!!
Mrs Soon : I have the same feeling too!

and as we were touched by the humane efforts made different countries and within China to help the people trapped in the earthquake in Sichuan, mum and dad decided to donate some money to help them as well.. and so we made a trip down to the China embassy in Singapore.. there were so many Chinese people there and they all had a solemn look on their faces.. most of the looked very worried so I figured perhaps they have relatives or friends in Sichuan and there was a lady who started tearing.. as we had to leave before 2.28pm, we din manage to observe the minutes of silence with the people there.. It is a tragedy.. many people died, are dying, are trapped or to me, the worst of it all, to have survived, but survived alone.

going down memory lane

We happened to drive past my sister's and my primary school today after going to the temple at Ave 6 to pray.. My primary school is Pei Tong Primary School... and to my surprise, it has changed so much!

I know they were undergoing PRIME and rebuilding the school to suit the changing needs of the new generation but my golly! it's now so modern! SO BIG!!!

my memory of the school was the tiny canteen cum hall which we'll always sit at to enjoy our weekly assembly and prize giving ceremonies.. though we always complain about the dirtiness of the floor, but somehow we always seem to not mind the place... the yummy mee rebus and the ice cream stall in the canteen... the unbelieveably small yet ever so crowded bookshop, the seemingly fierce bookshop uncle and auntie.. the small pond in the middle of the 4 classroom blocks.. and also the mosquito-infested dental clinic area. oh how i hated that the smell of the dental clinic.. the smell of the typical dental clinic.. with the shrieking sounds of the machines and whatever equipment that they use the remove the plague.. haha..

most of all, I miss the people there.. the teachers and somehow, I even miss the principal (Mr Tan), vice-principal (Mr Chee)..
Mr Tan and Mr Chee took turns to coach us (the P6 batch) personally after school in the evenings, to prepare us a little more for the PSLE exams..
how many of our present school leaders can actually do that? most of them will juz push everything and all the rest of the work to their teachers! who will be so kind and caring to personally teach the students? Not many I should say. most likely, most definitely not my current school leaders..

I miss their gentleness.. yes they were strict, but never fierce for no reason. I remember Mr Chee's the gentle and kind guy, while Mr Tan is the fierce man. All the boys were scared of him, needless to say, us. But he's always so approachable.. so kind.

I did a web search and though I failed to find the pictures of the old school campus, the image of it will never fade in my mind.. it'll always be my school.. always..

Our uniforms past and present...
but I'm really glad to know that some things never change.. even after 20 years.. they stay the same..

our school crest..
our school motto..

and our school song... and somehow I still remember its tune..

Let us grow in strength and wisdom
With heart and soul we do our best
We know for sure with good system
We will succeed when put to test.

To our school we all give honour
We learn and play in healthy way.
Our country we cherish a - dore
We all pledge to be strong and true.

Take courage friends for we are one
Respect one another honour our elders
Dilligent stead-fast in all that we do
This is the path to a bright future.

a pleasant surprise

I was websurfing today and happened to click onto my photographer's website and to my surprise, I saw some of our ROM photos uploaded onto his site.
Looking at the photos brought back many sweet memories... haha.. and amidst all the wedding prep now, since the AD is only about 1 month away, I felt kinda awkward, apprehensive yet happy and certainly looking forward to the big day.

Angel & Mortal 2008 Part II

It was finally the day of reckoning for our annual Angel & Mortal game in SV. :)

I prepared a gift each for my angel and mortal. I bought a precious moments mousepad & a precious moments name-frame for my angel & a forever friends mousepad + a pair of earrings for my mortal. I already suspected who my angel was and hence bought her fave precious moments stuff.

Here's me with my sweet sweet mortal! :)
Jaelyn bought me a pair of earrings too!!
hahaa... and i kinda picked it myself... haha.. long story~

but... it so happened that my angel was on MC on the day of reckoning, so I was an unclaimed mortal... sad...

Farzila, Wendy and I were a little sad coz our angels were missing.. so we decided to take a pix together to cheer ourselves up! :)

~ Missing angels ~

SMILE!!!

P/S: the next day, I bumped into Sarah @ the printing room! I confronted her and she admitted to being my angel~!!! yeah!! happy.. so my guess was right! :)

promotion ceremony..

I went with Joanne, Yeeling and Lee Sin for the MOE promotion ceremony on 25 April. It was held at Grant Corpthorne Waterfront. It was really a waste of time... and they even planned and demostrated what to do, where to walk and how to react if our names were announced wrongly. the only thing that we felt was "what the hell?!?!? you think we wouldn't know how to react accordingly and you must even demonstrate to us?!" sigh.. cannot make it.

And we left straight after we received our cert on stage since our P was long gone! haaha..

After that, Lee Sin, Yeeling and I took a cab to Great World and did a little shopping over there.. but sad to say, Great World was not that great afterall.. :p
