settling in..

It's almost been a week since I've last blogged and thatz cos I've been busy trying to settle into my new roles and duties as a Mrs..

Thinking back, my wedding day was almost like over in a flash.. slept around midnight the night b4 my wedding and woke up at around 6+ the next morning.. everyone asked if I managed to catch some winks (coz prob excitement or wat) but I seriously slept like a log... haha..

In the morning, mum made noodles for me after the traditional 'shu-tou' ceremony.. and very soon, the doorbell rang and my cousin cum videographer was here.. haha.. and everything just happened like in a flash! Nancy came, and as she dolled me up in my room, I heard more knocks on the door as my jiemeis and aunties and grandma came.. haha... and I could juz overhear their conversations as they prepared the '4 tastes' and gatecrashing stuff...

Soon it was 9+ and my sister got the sms saying that the brothers are almost reaching! haha.. and the frenzy started! the aunties got nervous, the jiemeis got excited but alas the ones who really made a booboo was the GROOM! he forgot to bring my bridal bouquet in his hurry to leave (only remembered to bring the contract!) >.<" But luckily for him, Eugene knows how to drive!
" can hear anot? "

After the "I LOVE U" phrases SW was tasked to shout from the courts downstairs, he was finally allowed to come up to my place.

But it was just the beginning of more tricks!
600 push ups (later got discounted) and sipping soda from a damn long straw...

... followed by food tasting of the '4 tastes' ^-^

... which I think the brothers all 'enjoyed' tremendously and had fun doing!

" Let's YAMMMM SENG to that! "~

... then they had to eat buns which contained keys (to my room, NOT!) ---> and they actually had the guts to distribute the buns to all men in the flat (to share the luv)..

and finally, to sing the song I wanted to boys (esp SW) to sing for me.. :)
though I wasn't outside to witness the fun, from what I heard and overheard, I was already giggling and laughing inside my room!

Finally SW overcome all 'obstacles' and managed to get the key to my room from Ju and he came in.. and he actually remembered to kneel down in front of me to give me the bouquet! (which I tot he'll have forgotten amidst all the 'fun' outside)

well... after the gatecrashing, everything happened at a speed of 150km/h and soon it was dinner time.. and with the march-ins, champagne toasting and thank you speeches, everything almost seemed auto-pilot~

SW and I had a great time on our wedding day.. with loads of thanks to my jiemeis who put in so much effort for my special day and not forgetting the wonderful brothers who helped out a lot during the morning gatecrashing and especially also at night, helping us with all the coordination and everything..

almost a week has past since the big day, and we've sort of settled into our new home.. but I guess with SW studying and working at the same time and me starting school again soon, we need a little more time before we can finally adjust into our new roles and be comfy with our new lives..
p/s: Thanks mummy and daddy.. :)

counting down... 2 days

2 days to go.. ;p

today we went down to GHA to collect our gowns and suits.. for once I stood up for myself and insisted on getting the kua which I supposedly reserved.. and I suppose I gave Ailing a shock (coz SW was surprised to see that I was pissed) lol.. anyway, long story but I'm proud of myself..
after collecting the gowns and stuff, we headed back to our new place to put my kua before SW drove me home with the remaining gowns..

upon reaching home, more surprises..

the shoestand which was supposedly in the living room, is gone!
Mummy decided to move that into the service balcony area where it will be more or less out of sight to the cameras.. haha.. and daddy was busy wiping the grills of our metal gate (at the command of my mother).. haha..
not only that, the exercise bike and electric piano thingy (which both are seldom used but displayed for dunno wat reason) are also gone!
they are not hidden somewhere in my mum's room.. haha..

everybody's like busy busy while I'm just really slacking.. ;p
and the best part is, nobody seems to insist that I help out!lol.. unbelieveable!
anyways, I packed my clothes and stuff, so I'd be able to pass them to SW tmw morning b4 we head back down to GHA to have our bridal car 'made up'.

looking forward to seeing our bridal car all dolled up for tmw and most definitely looking forward to having our nails done up tmw as well! woohoo~

meanwhile, I'm getting ready to go meet the girls for my supposedly Hen's night @Forbidden City Clarke Quay. :)
looking fwd to that! :)

counting down.. 3 days

Today, we met up with our emcees for our wedding dinner, Wen & James..
It was meant to be Wen & Kelly, but coz Kelly's pregnant and not convenient to be my emcee, Wen has kindly agreed to stay on and partner with James instead.

anyways, we met up for lunch at MOF @Marina Square for a sumptous lunch with loads of goofing around.. after looking thru the script together, we made some changes to the script (with lots of help from James)~!

After the lunch date, SW and I made a trip down to Merchant Court to test out the montage and sound system over there.. except for perhaps the lighting for the screen projector, I think we're more or less all set for the big night!

I think~! @.@

after reaching home, I saw a box on my table.. the corsages have arrived! :)
but it looks a little big.. haha.. esp on the wrists.. hope the girls like it~

of bedrooms...

actually we've already kinda 'an chuang' almost 4-5 months ago.. haha.. by that I mean we've already placed the bed happily on the bed frame..
but since the big day is coming, grandma told mum to prepare some nuts and stuff for us to place on the bed.. and so here's wat mummy prepared for us!

phew.. luckily mum's on leave from Tuesday and since then, the Too family have been busy cleaning this, cleaning that, moving this and moving that, changing this and changing that.. all for this coming Sunday.. and for the past few days, our conversation topic is always on the wedding.. :P

and as my room has always been a pig sty, I finally decided to do something about it.. and here's my brand new room! haha.. seriously, I couldn't recognise it after I've changed the position of my bed and replaced all the books on my bookshelf with teddy bears! :P now it really looks like a girl's room.. all pink and stuff.. and somewhat, I like my room better now!

counting down

In my attempt to lose some weight, I've been taking in less carbohydrates and also eating to only 75% full, cutting down on supper & also sweet stuff... but somehow, it had not much effect on my waistline.. sobs.. maybe only losing a little bit of my love handles... why.. why do I always put on weight at the hip area? sobs..

Anyway, SW took leave on Fri, and we spent the day packing my stuff into boxes and moving them into the new house. SW has been moving in bit by bit everyday, unlike me. haha.. i really din feel like moving at all.. so waited till quite the last min..

my stuff...

After bringing the stuff to new house, we unpacked and cleaned and scrubbed.. poor us.. haha.. but SW will make quite a good househusband.. :D i'd be praising him lots so he'll not mind (have to) doing housework in the future.. hee.. ^-^
That night, SW met up with his brothers and they threw him a bachelor's night party.. and he only came home till wee hours in the morning; drunk and suffered a serious hangover the next morning.. >.<"

Today, SW and I made a trip down to GHA for our final fitting.. I chose the accessories with the help of Ailing & Nancy (my MUA) who happened to be there. I also chose my cocktail dress which I'd be wearing on the night during the cocktail frm 7pm onwards till b4 the dinner begins..

Right now, on one hand, I'm feeling a little sad coz I won't be able to do many things with my parents anymore after I move away.. won't be able to gossip with my mum and sister during dinner times, won't be able to watch TV with my parents every evening, won't be able to sleep on my bed (with my special bolster & blanket), won't be able to go to the market with dad every Sunday... I'll miss all that...
but on the other hand, I'm looking forward to a new life ahead with SW..

but still life goes on, so I'm really excited and can't wait for the big day to come and I'm going to relax and enjoy the rest of the remaining 1 week..

I still can't believe it.. 7 more days to my wedding day!! ^-^

Some pictures from Guo Da Li on 31 May 2008 (Sat)

some stuff my parents bought for us and the new house..

Sw came to our house with his brother Eugene at around 1130am..
and these were some of the things they brought with them..

the wedding cakes my parents requested for..

Some of the things we 'returned' to them..

Joanne's wedding!

Yeeling, Wendy, Fion and I were tasked to be Joanne's jiemeis along with Maureen & Jiahui (Jo's sec frds) on 29th May 2008. Prior to that, we've already met up to discuss the wedding morning fun activities and also to do the prepatory work. Each of us were tasked to prepare different things, and I was told to get ready the bicycle chain for double locking the gate..

So I made a chart with several number combinations.. haha.. and we charged the groom $18 for the first number picked and $10 for subsequent numbers..

And guess what! Emeth chose the correct number combi at his very first attempt! There must have been a SPY amongst us!! Maybe the photographer? Videographer? :P
anyway, we told the boys that we were the best jiemeis ever so we told them we'll let them choose again.. haha... and anyway, they got the correct number the 2nd time around.. haha..

The whole morning was loads of fun.. preparing the suan-tian-ku-la desserts.. haha.. posing in front of our cameras.. haha.. I was feeling really excited and even pondered over the idea of maybe the bride should be given a chance to play/ participate during gatecrashing! :)

*Our 'chairwoman' explaining our tricks that morning*

*The videographer & Wendy!*

The photographer! Sexy pose?!

Our pretty bride!

Yeeling & I~!

Menu
Suan
- lime ice cubes
Tian - Winter melon sticks +honey +condensed milk +rainbow choco rice
Ku - Bitter gourd + celery + coffee powder
La - Meiji biscuits + wasabi + chilli padi

Putting our best foot forward~

Star!

Girls with chokers!
(haha.. but now tied as wrist corsages)

Let's count...
1,2,3,4,5 and 6!

By late morning, after the photoshoot @a church in punggol area, we proceeded to Jo's new house for her ROM ceremony.. Her house is really very thematic la! Red and black everywhere.. it has a very relaxing & contemporary feel... ahhh... nice~

It was really a fun morning for us and though by night, we were already tired out, it was truly an unforgetable gatecrashing & wedding.. :)

Congrats to the newly-wed again! Mr and Mrs Chan!
