Ian's 1st month~

Ian's 1st month celebrations~
Ivan invited us to the celebrations @ his parents' place at Hume Park. It's terribly near my mum's place and so I conveniently met up with my parents and sis for lunch @the coffeeshop near my mum's place.. though we always complain that the food sux and is forever the same, no change in variety and always so boring, somehow since I moved away, I miss its Laksa noodles and fried chicken wings~ ^-^
after that, mum drove me to Ivan's place and soon after I reach, Jo, Nick, Phui Lea and Daphne & hubby with their little Carene arrived too~!
Of coz, almost immediately, Carene became the centre of attraction and all my attention. but somehow, dunno y, I don't seem to have any luck with kids. It's the same for Jaron and Carene. But Ben somehow always gets to carry the little ones with ease.. and they won't fidget and yelp. :P maybe I need to be more motherly and gentle! hahah....

joanne's housewarming~

11Aug08 was the designated national day holiday-in-lieu for all of us and we all gathered at Joanne's place for her housewarming there!

Hopefully more interesting pix will be uploaded soon - coz all in Ben's camera!!

p/s: Ben, get the hint?! :p hurry up la! ^o^

Wendy, Jaelyn & I met up for breakfast @Mac that morn and after that, we went to NTUC to grab ourselves bottles of wine for the housewarming later!

and cos we don't really drink, we got sparkling wine for the gathering~! :)

my at-the-moment craziness~

as i was cleaning up the house on Sat, I decided to replace the 'cup' of flowers.. I had initially used the flowers used on our bridal car to deco the coffee table in the living room... now i replaced it with the clay flowers used on the top tier of our wedding cake..

birthdaysssss

August is one of my favourite months in a year.. with all the public holidays, friends' bdaes and of coz, mine! even though the number keeps getting bigger and bigger every year.. >.<

6Aug08 - I turn 3 less than 30 this yr.. gosh! >.<

with SW studying, I had to kinda test him a week b4 my bdae to see if he actually still remembered my bdae and luckily he kinda did, otherwise, he DIE!
I got to choose my bdae gift this year coz I was actually looking for a watch to replace the black watch which I actually really liked but kinda gradually stopped working coz I dropped it once on the floor.. so as we happened to shop around The Central and saw a nice watch! SW volunteered to buy for me and of coz I didn't refuse! :)

I love the watch and has been wearing it since, but juz afraid that the white strap will soon become dirty... so i gotta be really careful given my boh-boh-ness!

6Aug08.. QF and my day.. :) went to school as usual to mark like nuts and though I tot nobody knew that it was my bdae, I got special surprises from my dearest friends and colleagues! jo got me a french manicure set, yeeling brought me out for a special lunch treat @teck whye coffeeshop (haha... thatz already a special treat ok! given we always eat canteen food) and when I entered the conference room for a briefing at 12noon, Wendy, Ratna and Hamidah sang me a birthday song!! I was so surprised and felt really blessed! ^-^

SW came to fetch me from work that day and he told me that we'll be going to food court for dinner. haha... and asked me wat i wanna eat. :p anyway, the drive into the city was really bad... lotsa traffic and congestion everywhere... finally we reached raffles city and as I tot SW might be bringing me to the Singapore Flyer, when he walked towards the Swissotel Stamford Hotel area, I blur. Then I realised he's bringing me to the Equinox!!
Long ago, we actually considered having our ROM reception @Equinox but coz they required us to have a minimum spending of $5k, we dropped the idea. But WOW!!! The view from up there is indeed fantastic!! seriously can see the whole esplanade, city hall, marina square, fullerton, marina bay area! woohoo!!

7Aug08 - I had to reach school early coz of the P1 Balloting exercise..

heard from other colleagues that there was once when a father grew hesterical in the hall when his child couldn't get into SV...
Luckily no parent got too excited or too disappointed that day.... haha..

8Aug08 - The school celebrated the nation's 43rd bdae today.. the school suddenly turned into a sea of red that morning! we all had school from 7.45 - 10am that day and maybe i'll let the photos do the talking! :)

steamboat @sunset way

This weekend was a busy and fruitful one... On Sat, whilst SW was away in class, I spent the morning ironing clothes, bringing the clothes out to sun, putting more clothes into the washing machine to wash, wiping the furniture, sweeping & mopping the floor.. and I managed to meet up for lunch with mummy at west mall still! :)

In the evening, I met up with my sec gang for steamboat @ Sunset way! that place has totally changed and it's almost like a mini holland village now! very happening wor~
The steamboat is quite nice~ got a good mix of raw & cooked food... not bad for around $28 per person.. :)
after steamboat, we went a few shops down the row and sat at a bar and talked.. ^-^
havent had such a good time in a long while! haha...

On Sunday, we surprisingly woke up at around 8+ w/o needing the alarm clock! amazing! haha.. we had breakfast @WangJiao b4 we drove to Expo to catch the last day of the NATAS fair. wanted to shop ard for tours to Europe for our honeymoon... but in the end, after much persuasion and assurance that I will help to do most of the planning (i hope i will manage to fulfil this promise), we decided to still go free & easy for our honeymoon.. ^-^

so the NATAS trip was kinda wasted but i'd be keeping all the brochures and info for future reference! As usual, Sunday afternoons are spent playing badminton and I'm growing to love the sport more and more! haha... hopefully it'll help me to keep 'fit'~~!

Now as I blog, SW is zzz and we'll be meeting mummy, daddy & Ju later @turf city for Jap dinner to celebrate my bdae!! hee... yeah! becoming older and older each yr... sigh... nvm la... who doesn't age! ^-^

Sports Day

Today was our annual sports day and juz like the years before, I was placed in floorball again. :p
out in the scorching sun, bbq-ing. before our duties, Jo, YL and I went to Lot1 for breakfast and we dragged our feet back to school only at 9.50am though we were supposed to be in school by 10am. :p

upon reaching school, we each went to our respective stations and unlike lucky Jo and YL, who got duties in the shade and air-con hall respectively, I got the parade square. out in the sun, we (Linne and I) bbq-ed.

By 12noon, we were already half-baked. tired and sweaty. our duties will only end at 4.30pm. after lunch (ie. ard 1.30pm), the sun was at it's ''best'' - top form. we stood in the sun until almost 3pm. by then, we were not baked, but "chao-ta''.

but coz badminton finished early, I went up to join Linne, Hamidah, Daphne, Mrs Lim-Goh & Jeanette in a friendly teachers' badminton game. It was FUN!!! hee... I'm growing to like badminton more and more! :) esp. since SW and I are playing it with friends every Sunday :)
by 5pm, I was really sweaty & sticky liao.. but we had previously arranged to go see Fazy's baby princess that day.. and so we did! Fazy's place is super near SV and we reached there in about 5-10 min time.

Upon reaching her place, I was awed by her house! :) I love the deco of her house! it feels really comfy and relaxing... the theme of her house was 'beach house' and so it truly was!
nice..... and we saw her pretty princesses... Sophie (jie-jie) and Yasmin (the little tot)...
Sophie's kinda shy and Yasmin was super adorable! sleeping quietly in her little cot.. :)
